Arthur D. Collins Jr. is an American business executive who was born on May 11, 1939. He is the former CEO of Rockwell Collins, a leading aerospace and defense company. Collins served as CEO from 2001 until his retirement in 2013. During his tenure, he oversaw the growth and expansion of Rockwell Collins through acquisitions and strategic partnerships, including the acquisition of ARINC in 2013. Collins began his career as an engineer for Collins Radio Company, which was founded by his father. He worked his way up the company ladder, eventually becoming CEO in 2001. Collins has received numerous awards and recognition for his contributions to the aerospace and defense industry, including being inducted into the Aviation Week Hall of Fame in 2013. He is currently a member of the board of directors for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.
